Salvation

Are You a Good Person?

Think about it are you really a good person? You might do things that would appear morally acceptable to people. You might have good mannerism, you might be respectful of your elders, you might even lend a hand to the poor. Romans 3:10 (NLT) says “As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous— not even one.”. Truly none of us are good people, not even I myself.

We are all going to have to face a Holy God on Judgement Day. Many people say God is love, and that is true. However, just as God has a loving side, He has a wrathful side. Exodus 34:6-7 (NKJV) tells us, “And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, “The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,  keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.””.

The 10 Commandments

When we all stand on Judgement Day, we will all be judged based off the Law. You can find the 10 Commandments in Exodus 20. Many people think Jesus came to undo the Law. Scripture tells us Jesus came to fulfill the Law (Matthew 5:17-20). Jesus even took the Law to the next level by saying if you look at someone with lust, that you commit adulatory in the heart (Matthew 5:28). God not only sees our actions on the outside, He also knows every thought. My thought life is not close 100% clean, and I am sure yours isn’t either.

God Loves You

However God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to pay our price for our sins. We must repent and put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ for our Salvation.

To become saved you must accept Jesus into your life as your Lord and Savior. Romans 10:13 (NKJV) tells us, “For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”. Additionally, John 3:3 (NKJV) says, ” Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”. So to enter Heaven when your life is over you must be born again.

God loves you so much that He gave up His only Son to die for your sins! John 3:16 (NKJV) says, ” For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”. Maybe you feel like you are lost in life or don’t know where to turn. It is time that you turn fully to the Lord. If you have just realized how guilty you are of your sinfulness, it is time to repent and turn to Christ. Salvation is not a free pass to sin. We must abide in Christ, and Salvation should bear good fruit.

The Sinners Prayer?

I won’t make you repeat a prayer like many evangelist do. But I will tell you to simply pray and cry out to God on your own. Repent for your sins, admit you are a sinner in desperate need of a Savior. Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ. Ask the Lord to give you a new heart.
