Bible Study John 7:25-36

John 7:25-31

  • John 7:1-24 – Jesus talked about seeing through lens of Law vs. Mercy.
  • In Christ, we have God’s mercy and Law fulfilled.
  • Matthew 5:17
  • “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.
  • Jesus was born in Bethlehem.
  • Matthew 2:5
  • Micah 5:2
  • Culturally establishing one’s origin was important in knowing their identity.
  • Romans 8:29 (AMP)
    For those whom He foreknew [and loved and chose beforehand], He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son [and ultimately share in His complete sanctification], so that He would be the firstborn [the most beloved and honored] among many believers.
  • Matthew 11:27-30
    All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am [a]gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

John 7:32-36

  • Jesus speaks to religious leaders after Him.
  • Kingdom of Heaven
  • Matthew 5:20

  • Revelation 21:27
  • But there shall by no means enter it anything [a]that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
