John 8:21-24

  • Mark 16:16
  • Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.
  • Salvation
  • Acts 20:21
  • I have had one message for Jews and Greeks alike—the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God, and of having faith in our Lord Jesus.
  • Matthew 3:8
  • Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.
  • 1 John 1:9
  • But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
  • Romans 3:23
  • For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
  • Ezekiel 3:18
  • If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths.
  • Above/below realm reference of 1 Enoch 21:2

John 8:25-30

  • Jesus identity is the same.
  • Leading with actions and words.
  • John 4:25-26
  • The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.” 26 Then Jesus told her, “I am the Messiah!”
  • Judgement Day
  • Hebrews 9:27
  • And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment,
  • Matthew 12:36
  • And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.
  • Revelation 20:11-15
  • And I saw a great white throne and the one sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. 12 I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God’s throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. 13 The sea gave up its dead, and death and the grave[a] gave up their dead. And all were judged according to their deeds. 14 Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. 15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.
  • Union with the Father (Jesus paid the price for us)
  • John 14:10
  • Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me.
  • John 3:16
  • “For this is how God loved the world: He gave[a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
  • 1 Corinthians 6:17
  • But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him.
