Worshiping into His Presence

It is without a doubt that there are many Spirit-filled believers who are pressing in for greater manifestations of God’s Glory in their lives this year. The time spent pressing in towards God will never be in vain, in fact, we should be at a place where we can never get enough of His Glory. Just as things appear dark and uncertain in a nation, there are those in the church who have seen and witnessed the Glory of God manifested in both their personal lives and collectively as believers. . 

For too long the church at large has been placated by a seeker-friendly movement. This has directly impacted how God is worshiped. People sadly become more captured by the flashy lights and smokey machines, rather than worshiping God and experiencing His Glory. I am not implying that people in churches with flashy lights are not hearing the Gospel, I am simply saying we need to ensure our focus and motives are in line with Scripture, and that we are not conformed to the spirit of the age (Romans 12:2).

With the coming Harvest Revival, there is going to be a shift in many churches to enter into a new season of worship. Some churches may already be doing this, but the Lord is calling us all to do this as His Spirit leads us. We are entering into a time where there will be more spontaneous worship and more prophetic worship. We will see a day when there will be a shift from singing songs written by other people to a blend of that along with our own spiritual songs from our hearts. 

Ephesians 5:18-19 (NLT) says, “Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.”. 

It will be during these worship services that fully yield to the Holy Spirit that we will see some of the greatest moves of God that this generation will witness. Done will be the days when people are attracted by the craftiness of man’s methods during worship, but coming are the days when the world will see the new thing the Lord is doing with spiritual songs that have never been sung before are being played and chains will be broken off people. 

Remember the church should be attractive to people because it offers something that this world cannot offer and that is Jesus Christ! While God uses each of us in this coming Harvest I pray that we all keep pure hearts and motives. I pray that not only are we yielding to the Holy Spirit to use our Spiritual Gifts but that there will also be an overflow of the Fruits of the Spirit in every believer’s life and in the churches. Let us always be reminded that we are not called to satisfy our selfish desires, but we are called to Glorify the King of Kings.

Americanized Gospel?

It is a tragedy when the Gospel gets mixed with the American dream. You don’t have to look too far to see the modern message has become distorted. Mainstream Christianity has sadly become preaching about a false Jesus who will give you an easy life. Did the Apostle Paul have it easy? No, however, he was once a driving force for persecuting Christians, then God grabbed a hold of him and changed the desires of his heart. The Apostle Paul trusted God despite numerous difficulties and circumstances. At the same time, God provided for His needs.

Being a Christian isn’t about living a life of no problems. Being a Christian is about recognizing you are dead in sin and cannot save yourself from the judgment to come. A Christian’s joy is rooted in Christ, not their material possessions or bank account. Being a Christian means your heart’s desires have been changed because you are born again, and live a life for the Glory of God.

Jesus did not preach a ”your best life now” message. I strongly oppose this out of love, because if we believe in the wrong Jesus, then we are in deep trouble.

Halloween and Christinaity

As a born-again believer, I am thankful for the work of Christ in my life. I am thankful that Jesus Christ has delivered me from the kingdom of darkness and birthed me into His Kingdom.

With that being said, I can never comprehend how people who call themselves Christians and maybe genuine with what they believe, can at the same time forfeit a day or weekend of the year to celebrate the devil’s holiday. You can call it what you want, but take any study at the roots of Halloween and you will see it is full of nothing but pagan and occultism. Ephesians 5:11 says, “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”. I grant many Christians have been deceived due to powerless Christianity. This is due to us forfeiting the power behind the Gospel and the full working of the Holy Spirit for our own traditions and man-made Theological constructs.

At large many have settled for a type of Christianity that will make the outside look pretty one day a week, and the remaining days of the week blend in with the rest of the world. I don’t write this out of hate, my heart truly goes to those who are deceived. I’ve seen how the devil works to destroy people, families, and churches. It is time we bear the Light of the World every day of the week and don’t give ourselves over to the workings of the devil. Jesus said in Mark 16 that those who believe would cast out demons and the Kingdom of darkness, therefore we are not to entertain them for one season of the year! Don’t get distracted with the devil’s holiday, focus on the Kingdom of God!

Hold Fast to the Word of God

According to the Oxford dictionary, hold fast means to remain tightly secured. Are you tightly secured to the Word of God in your daily life? Philippians 2:14-16 (NKJV) tells us, “Do all things without complaining and disputing,  that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,  holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”.

Too often in today’s world, we can get caught up with the flow of complaining or walking in hate, rather than focusing on God. The people of this world will focus on the problems of life, rather than focusing on the Solution which is a life totally submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. If we are a born-again believer, then we have no right to complain about your present circumstances, instead, we need to speak life to our circumstances according to the Will of God. How do you know what the Will of God is? By reading His Word! When you speak the Word of God into your life or the life of others with full unwavering faith you can expect things to change.

We need to hold fast to the Word of Life if we want to speak life into our lives and the lives of others. You cannot hold fast to the Word of Life by just going to church once or twice a week, there needs to be daily feeding upon the Word! When you speak God’s Word into your life or someone else’s it is not for your own personal gain but, it is to rather glorify God and expand the Kingdom of God. Jesus told us in Mark 11:23 (AMP), “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea!’ and does not doubt in his heart [in God’s unlimited power], but believes that what he says is going to take place, it will be done for him [in accordance with God’s will].”. When we act in unwavering faith, we have the ability to change our circumstances only by the Power of God operating in our lives.

Romans 8:9 (AMP) tells us, “However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God].”. We have the Spirit of the Living God inside of us, the God who does not change. When God created the Heavens and the Earth, everything was created by the words He spoke. When He created mankind, He spoke life into existence. It is only by us having the Spirit of God inside of us that we have the authority to speak life. It is only by us having the Spirit of God inside of us that we have the authority to speak His Will (healing, deliverance, and Salvation) into our lives and the lives of others. It is only by us having the Spirit of God inside of us that we can have the faith it takes to move mountains.

When we operate in the authority that He gave us as believers we do it to glorify Him and to expand the Kingdom. Too often this type of message gets out of balance and people become very self-centered, this is why everything we do must be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 (AMP) tells us, “Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us]”. How do you know if you are walking in love? Read what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (AMP) “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”. If how one operates in the authority of the believer is not done in love, then they have gotten out of balance and are not being led by the Spirit of God.

If the church wants to see revival, then we need to first hold fast to the Word of God. Revival will only come when the church knows who they are in Christ. Revival will only come when the church knows the authority she has and acts upon it. Most importantly we must have a revival that is led by the Spirit of God, rather than by carnality.

What Are We Doing

In the last couple of weeks, the Lord has pressed my heart about some issues concerning the churches in America. I write this post not to put a particular group of people down, but to rather awaken the slumbering churches in America. Before I go any further, I want you to reflect if you think the average church is truly fulfilling the Great Commission as Jesus instructed in Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV), “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”.


For most people going to church means only going to hear a sermon once or twice a week, and maybe a Bible Study. Do not get me wrong all aspects of church discipline are important, but I want us to really ask ourselves are we really doing what Jesus called us to do. You might have good sermons, good staff, good worship, good congregants, sound doctrine, and everything else you can think of with your church seems okay. But what is your church doing about the people who are unsaved in the community? Are we just praying that God would raise up laborers, or are we seeking God on how He might use us to reach the lost souls in our community? When was the last time you wept over someone you know is on the broad road to hell?


Most Christians today would rather drive an hour or more to go to a conference on ‘End Time Prophecy’ than go with a group of people from their local church and witness to people in the community. Most Christians today would rather drive an hour or more to see some televangelist’s ‘healing crusade’, heck some people might even get on a plane to attend one of these, but they will not take the time to go and witness the Gospel to the lost people in their community. The problem with the church in America is we do not want to get our hands dirty with Biblical evangelism, we just want to get busy with other religious activities to make ourselves feel good. I myself have been guilty of this as well, and we must all awaken to what Jesus has truly called us to do which is found in Scripture.


I am not saying every conference is bad, some of them do have their place and produce good fruit. At the same time, we really need to take a step back and seek God on what He is truly calling us to do for His Kingdom. I would like to encourage you to read the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus in Luke 16:19-31. There is so much to learn just from this one parable, but I would like to make a point. As you read this parable, read this once, and then read it again looking at the rich man as the modern-day church and the poor man as the modern-day sinner. This is an exact reflection of the problem with the churches today, there is no zeal for the lost, instead, we do not even want to bother at all with the lost, we do not want to get our royal garments dirty. Dear church it is time we get dirty with Biblical evangelism!


There are so many people in the world today who are unsaved. Look at how many colleges are indoctrinating students with the very things God hates, and many students are buying it. College campuses are a mission field! Look at how many cars are parked outside your local bar or the nightclub. Look at how many of the youth are reading Harry Potter books. Just take a second and look at how many people are willingly participating in sin; it is all over. We do not need any more conferences instead the local church needs to regularly go out in small groups into the community and witness to unsaved people. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:21-25 (NIV), “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”.


This should cause all of us to tremble, even myself. It is time we wake up and do what Jesus truly called us to do. We need to be like those in the Book of Acts who prayed for boldness for when we speak. We need to cry out to God daily for greater manifestations of the Holy Spirit operating in our lives. We not only need to operate in the Spiritual Gifts the Holy Spirit has given us, but we also need to bear the Fruit of the Spirit in our lives. Please take time to pray about this, and seek God with a pure heart on how He wants to use you.

What is Your Mindset?

The mind of the believer is so crucial, Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) tells us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”.  We must ask ourselves, is our mindset in line with God’s Word or not? Many people today are living in a lifestyle of fear, bondage, worldliness, and defeat. Sometimes we can even be unstable in our minds and emotions, one day we are joyful and the next day we are struggling with irritability. None of these are a part of God’s redemptive plan. Paul tells us very clearly in 2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT), “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”. We must realize that fear, anxiety, and depression are from the devil. Jesus gave us authority over the devil in His Name (Mark 3:15, Matthew 10:1, Mark 6:7, Luke 10:19, and 1 John 2:13-14).

Romans 12:2 (NLT) tells us, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”. This is a verse that I believe every single one of us must continually grow in, even myself. The believer is to have a totally different mindset and lifestyle than the unbeliever. There should be nothing normal about the Christian mindset or lifestyle, when compared to the rest of the world. Our thoughts and lifestyle should continually be put in subjection to the Word of God, we can achieve this by renewing our minds, by getting into the Word of God daily.

Paul even instructs us in Colossians 3:2 (NIV), “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”. We often get so caught up in automatically accepting a worldly report on our circumstances, rather than going to the Word of God. We need to come to the place where we do not run to the world is not our first resort in a time of crisis, but when God is our first and only resort. Philippians 4:8 (NIV) tells us, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”. We are to only set our mind on things that are praiseworthy, if it is not praiseworthy then do not even think about it!

Jesus Christ will return one day, I cannot say when or whether it will be in my lifetime or not, but He will return one day. When Jesus returns, He is not coming for a defeated church, He is coming for a victorious church! How can the church of Jesus Christ be victorious if the people are in a place of mental defeat? We need to continually renew our minds daily, by reading and meditating on the Word of God. We need to speak the Word of God into our lives and the lives of others for the Glory of God.

Have We Fully Surrendered?

This is going to be a different post than usual, not fully a teaching, but also a bit of a word mixed in the Lord has given me. I gave a teaching recently about the importance of surrendering the carnal mind. I do not know about you, but I am honestly sick of the casual and powerless Christianity. Go to church once or twice a week, and then blend in with the rest of the world the other days of the week. Are we sitting under preaching that is developed with man’s made methods or is the preaching we sit under led by the Holy Spirit?

So many profess to be Christian, but yet their lives do not reflect the working of the Holy Spirit. If we are new creations then why are we still in love with the things of this world, the things of which are passing away (1 John 2:17). We do not realize how much time we spend focusing on things that do not really matter. Do not get me wrong we all have various obligations in life such as school, work, and family. However, many of us and myself included have fed off carnality rather than spending more time feeding off the things of God.

The Lord wants His people to take worship more seriously this year, and the years to come. This is both in corporate worship and private worship. Too often we have become too led by our man-made devices rather than by the Holy Spirit. In Leviticus 10 we see what happened to Nadab and Abihu when they brought strange incense to the Lord, they were consumed with fire and died. Why? Because they went against what the Lord had commanded them to do when it came to worship.  Nadab and Abihu brought innovation to God’s altar rather than what God had already ordained. How often do we get wrapped up in our man-made programs in the church rather than being totally led by the Spirit? Now I am not saying all church programs are bad, I am saying we really need to be careful not to get all wrapped up in programs and our own strength.

Too many people in church pews are more religiously developed than they are spiritually developed. Too many people know how to follow a dead religious system rather than the true leading of the Holy Spirit. Are we to be filled with religion or are we to be filled with the Holy Spirit? I think the New Testament makes that clear. (Ephesians 5:18)

Biblical Christianity as found in the Early Church was not about religion, it is about being in relationship with the Lord. When we are born again, we are put in right standing with God. This is only through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Go back to the Old Testament and look at all the rules that had to be followed with all the sacrifices. Thank God for sending His only Son to be the only final Sacrifice.

We must take the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ seriously. So many people do not understand the depth of what Jesus accomplished on the Cross and through His resurrection and ascension. He paid the penalty for our sins; without Him, we would be deserving of eternal death. Because of His finished work we have authority over sickness and demons. (Mark 3:15, Matthew 10:1, Mark 6:7, Luke 9:1, 1 John 2:13-14, Ephesians 6:11, and Romans 16:20)   When we get saved, we do not receive a hell insurance plan. When we get saved, we do not get a pass to live our life however we want, our life is not our own! (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) The Bible tells us to work out our Salvation with fear and trembling. (Philippians 2:12)

The Bible says when we get saved, we are a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17) This is spiritually speaking, we were once spiritually dead, but now we are alive. We must learn to surrender to the new creation we are through Jesus Christ, rather than continuing in the sickness of the old dead self we were before Christ.  This is why the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is so essential, we must continually be filled with the Holy Spirit. Not only is being filled with the Holy Spirit evidenced by your own private prayer language and other spiritual gifts as the Spirit wills, but it is also about walking in all the Fruits of the Spirit, holy living, and most importantly walking in the love of Christ.

It is time that the body of Christ as a whole and individually begins to surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

A Warning for 2021

As we bring in the New Year many people are making New Year’s resolutions to better themselves. 2020 has been without a doubt, a year unlike any other. 2020 has revealed many people’s true colors, whether for better or for worse. When it comes to the churches in America there is much to learn from 2020.

When the “COVID-19 Pandemic” hit the United States, we began to see the shipwrecked state the church at large is in, especially in the Charismatic circles. Churches that statement of faith states they believe in divine healing and the authority of the believer closed down immediately when ordered to by the government. If you genuinely believe in divine healing and protection, then why close your doors over a virus with a 99% survival rate for most people? I grant that some ministry groups may not own their building they meet in and may have had no other way to meet. However, there are many churches that failed to truly stand for what they believe.

I myself believe in the continuation of all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, along with divine healing. However, I do not like to label myself as a Charismatic or Pentecostal because of how much abuse of the Gifts takes place in these circles. This is not just true when it comes to divine healing, but when it comes to other Spiritual Gifts and Spiritual Warfare. For instance, many churches who believe in deliverance ministry still celebrate Halloween in some way in their congregation or in their personal lives. How can we say we do spiritual warfare when we sleep with the devil at the end of October?

I have seen big names like Bethel cancel healing services over this pandemic. If there would be a time to have a healing service, it would be in the middle of a pandemic. We must really discern these big names. Do they really believe what they profess? Or do they operate with a counterfeit Holy Spirit?

Jesus warned us, 1 John 4:1 (NASB) “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”. The church at large has zero sense of discernment. Just because you see a book in a Christian bookstore or someone on Christian TV, does not mean that their message agrees with Scripture.

Sadly, too many people only go to church to only receive something from God. While it is Biblical to pray for people for healing, deliverance, and provision, we cannot neglect people’s greatest need. When we are born we automatically inherit the sin nature from Adam. Sin is what separates man from God. We must make it a priority to deal with the sinner problem. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 1:23 (NKJV), “but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness”. Jesus Christ paid the price for sin, disease, poverty, and death when He was crucified on the Cross and rose from the grave. (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 1:7, 1 Corinthians 6:20, 1 Corinthians 7:23, 1 Peter 2:24, Galatians 3:13, and Titus 2:14).

There are probably far too many people in healing lines who have never truly been born again. If we are going to preach healing and pray over people for healing, we better be sure we also preach about their greatest need. Far too often Charismatics and Pentecostals accuse other denominations of having no move of the Holy Spirit in their churches. You often hear them say if you do not have people praying in tongues or getting healed there is no move of the Holy Spirit. While I agree there is truth to that, at the same time if you only preach about healing and the miraculous and never preach about repentance and the Cross, your church is just as dead if not deader. The full move of the Holy Spirit not only includes the miraculous signs and wonders it also includes ministers being full of the Holy Spirit and preaching messages that bring conviction and cut the heart of both sinners and believers.  Jesus tells us about the Holy Spirit in John 16:8 (MSG), “When he comes, he’ll expose the error of the godless world’s view of sin, righteousness, and judgment: He’ll show them that their refusal to believe in me is their basic sin; that righteousness comes from above, where I am with the Father, out of their sight and control; that judgment takes place as the ruler of this godless world is brought to trial and convicted.”.

Ministers when you preach include the Full Gospel. Preach the Bible in its context. Yes, there is a place for doing a sermon series on healing or on the Gifts of the Spirit. However, we must stay focused and in balanced. Jesus warned us in Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV), “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”. I believe this is one of the reasons Jesus warned us the way is narrow, and that few find it. Our culture makes it so easy to get off balanced. Too often people who profess Jesus Christ live a life just like the world. The Christian walk is about constant devotion to prayer, mediating the Word of God, Biblical confession, fasting, worship, and growing in sanctification. We cannot over focus in one area and neglect the other. If you are truly filled with the Spirit of the Living God, then you should have a desire to run from the sin you once loved and run toward the righteousness you once hated. It is nothing in our own strength but relying on Christ in us the moment we become born again.

May 2021 be a year that either we as believers stand up for what we believe in. Do we really believe that Jesus was the same yesterday, today and forever? If so, lets open back up our churches. Why on earth would we sit in the house of God with masks on our faces? What did the Apostles do when government leaders told them to stop preaching in Christ name? Did they submit to the government authorities? No, they continued. I don’t know how any church can properly preach the Full Gospel of Jesus Christ while at the same time shut down in person services for months at a time and/or require wearing masks when in the sanctuary.

If we want a fresh outpouring of the Spirit of God in 2021, then we need to stand for what we believe. Our nation needs the Full Gospel brought forth. Not some watered-down seeker friendly Gospel. The true Gospel that saves souls and heals and delivers people I pray that 2021 is the year of clarity for many churches. I pray that churches that continue to preach a false gospel with a counterfeit spirit either repent and turn from their wicked ways or that their ministries crumble. America can not afford another year with false prophets on Christian TV. We need well-balanced preachers on the mainstream! Are you going to stand for truth or you going to keep going along with the flow? Are you going to need peace of mind by getting a shot in your arm this year, or you going to trust in true peace that surpasses all understanding? This year will reveal who is a genuine believer and who is not. I pray that many will truly repent and believe this year!

I pray that God gives you a fresh outpouring of His Spirit today. I pray He sets your heart on fire for Him like never before. I pray that He strengthens you to seek Him daily in all areas of the Christian walk. I pray that He gives you Biblical boldness. I pray that His Spirit strengthens you to be a fruitful believer bearing much good fruit.

The Jezebel Church

2020 has been an interesting year for all of us. It has not been until this year that the Lord began slowly showing me a pattern of not only error, but also heresy in the American churches. Our nation is dealing with a pandemic, our church is dealing with a plague, and it is churches that have welcomed in the doctrines of Jezebel. You might already be assuming that this post is done with the intention to be judgmental, that is not my intention. In-fact it grieves me to see the things that are aloud in many churches today. It grieves me to see many people in my generation fall in love with another gospel, and it is not the Gospel of Christ, it is gospel that has been invented in hell.

I am already well aware that some people will be offended by this post. Again, it is not my intention to do that. I want to stress how it sickens me to see the large number of churches falling for this dangerous error. Sadly, this has become the norm for churches in America, and it is lethal. It is without a doubt that we can tell we are near the return of Jesus Christ. I cannot say how many days, months, or years we are away, but each day is a day closer. I am not going to make a prediction, but I am going to give a warning. Jesus Christ will return, and He is coming back for a pure bride. Please take this warning seriously!

Who is She?

So, who is Jezebel? Looking back in the first and second books of Kings in the Old Testament we see that she was the wife of King Ahab. If you read the narrative of the two Books of Kings, you will see they were both very wicked. Jezebel specifically was the one who killed God’s prophets (1 Kings 18:4), she ordered Naboth’s death (1 Kings 21:8-10), and she also practiced witchcraft (2 Kings 9:35). We see both her and her husband were advocates of Baal worship, which is very comparable to modern day abortions.

She Killed the Prophets

We see in 1 Kings 18:4, 18:3, and 19:1, that she wanted the prophets of God killed in the Old Testament. She rejected their words that were ordained by God. You could compare the prophets of God to today’s various types of ministers and elders in the church. We are living in a day in age in which people do not want to hear Biblical preaching. Biblical preaching means preaching the full Bible in context, and yes that includes touching upon sin. Many people get offended when pastors and evangelists mention anything about sin. If it is classified as sin in the Bible, it is still sin today. We see many churches today allowing same sex “marriages”. We see many churches today say nothing at all about fornication, when there is a generation of people sitting in the church who were out the night before hooking up and on their way to hell.  They might have other good works, but yet they will not endure true conviction from God’s ordained ministers. Killing the Old Testament prophets is very comparable to rejecting today’s God ordained ministers and instead settling for the wolves in sheep’s clothing who do not mention anything at all about sin, repentance, sanctification, and holy living. 1 Timothy 4:3 (ESV), “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching but having itching ears, they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions.”.

False Worship

We see Jezebel had a desire for false worship and idol worship (1 Kings 16:31 and 2 Kings 9:22). There is a popular type of teaching today in churches that only focuses on the blessings of God, rather than truly knowing God. This type of teaching is known as the Prosperity Gospel, or the Health and Wealth Gospel. Now let me first say that I do not reject that God can heal, He certainly can. God not only can heal, but He can also move in situations and circumstances today to meet our needs. I do not reject that God is at work today. I believe on the laying on of hands (James 5:14). However, it becomes a problem when our main focus becomes getting healed, or getting out of debt, rather than our devotion to Gods Word, prayer, worship in spirit and truth, and sanctification. Each person’s greatest need is not physical or financial, but spiritual. All our problems stem from a sin issue, we must make that the priority in our preaching and witnessing. Again, there is nothing wrong with praying for the sick, but keep the main thing the main thing. When we take our focus off of Jesus Christ truly being enough, then we are in idolatry.

When we make our focus on only praying so we do not have to take five medications a day, but neglect to pray about the sin in our life we are out of balance. When we only pray to get out of debt, but neglect to pray for others we are out of balance. Jesus said that the way to life is narrow, I believe this stresses the importance of balance in our Christian walk and also in church doctrine and theology.

There are many extreme views that have birthed from Charismatic and Pentecostal circles, that are quite dangerous. Let me say I am not throwing the baby out with the bath water with these movements, if you discern properly you should be able to distinguish the meat from the cookies in these movements. There are some truths that have come from these circles that other circles neglect, however it has become apparent that the mainstream of these movements has gotten off focus. Why do I say that? When the mainstream of faith-healers constantly asks you to send in $1,000 or more in seeds, you should see red flags. When you see more false healings being broadcasted, than genuine healings, you should see red flags. Again, I do not reject that God can heal. I am however against broadcasting false testimonies and manipulating people for personal gain. 1 John 4:1 (ESV) says, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”.

Witchcraft, Sorcery and Divination

The Bible makes clear that Christians should steer clear from any form of witchcraft, sorcery, or divination (Deuteronomy 18:10). Jezebel practiced witchcraft (2 Kings 9:35). You do not have to look to far to see many professing Christians involved in the occult, either knowingly or unknowingly. Harry Potter books have now become mainstream for children and even adults, as I have said in previous posts these books are nothing, but witchcraft dressed up in the form of entertainment. Another big issue is yoga, many people will jump to defend this with claims for the various health benefits behind yoga. While there may be evidence for health benefits with yoga, we must look at yoga from a spiritual standpoint. Take if from someone who was involved in New Age, Doreen Virtue says, “Every pose in the yoga sun salutation series is bowing to different pagan deities. Yoga does not glorify God, and it is breaking the first and second commandments.”. Many people claim that doing yoga brings them peace, this is a false peace, and our only hope of true peace is found in Jesus Christ. Sadly, many churches hold various fitness and wellness classes in their sanctuaries, including yoga classes. One well known church, the Potters House, has been famous for holding regular yoga classes for women. Churches are opening the doors for the occult. Preachers need to stop trying to blend in with todays culture, and instead warn people about the occult world.

Carnality

Carnality and sensuality go together. Revelation 2:19-23 (ESV) tells us, “‘I know your works, your love and faith and service and patient endurance, and that your latter works exceed the first. But I have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality. Behold, I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.”. Jesus is condemning the church of Thyatira for allowing the doctrines of Jezebel in their church. Notice in the verse 19 he acknowledges their good works, love, and faith. Many churches today that allow the Jezebel doctrines in their church have a lot of good works. They might do outreaches for the community, but yet they still tolerate these dangerous doctrines. Just because a church has a strong outreach to help the poor does not always mean their doctrine is correct. 2 Corinthians 11:14 (NLT) says, “But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.”. If you are looking for a church, do not pick one based off all the good things it does for the community. First, look at their doctrine. If a different gospel is being preached, then it is a gospel that will not save. Only the true Gospel will save. 

What Matters Most

I believe the church has lost focus on what really matters the most, and that is simply the truth found in Gods Word. Most churches today only teach about self-improvement, love, and the miraculous. It is sadly becoming more and more uncommon to see churches that are balanced. Most people today Christian or non-Christian just want their life to go well for them. If you look at the lives of the Apostles, they did not have their best lives on this earth, they went through much tribulation.

The other issue with today’s church is that you have people that say the church needs more of the miraculous (healing, prophecy, and other signs), but yet leave out addressing peoples core issue which is a sin problem. The Book of Acts shows two areas where the churches are missing it, one is the miraculous and the other is preaching that is convicting. Not only was the First Century Church moving in the miraculous, but they were also facing opposition from the culture constantly. How much of today’s televangelist face opposition from today’s culture? Most of what you see on Christian TV attracts people through carnal means and does not involve preaching that convicts sin.

Churches are lacking the move of the Holy Spirit, but yet people fail to realize that the move of the Holy Spirit isn’t just about signs, it is also about the Holy Spirit empowering preachers to preach messages that convicts unconverted sinners, and leads them to Salvation. Jesus tells us in John 16:8 (NASB), “”And He, when He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment”. We need the full move of the Holy Spirit in our churches today not only for sake of spiritual gifts, but to reach a world full of unconverted sinners. Charles Spurgeon once said “There must be true and deep conviction of sin. This the preacher must labor to produce, for where this is not health, the new birth has not taken place.”.

I urge you to take some time and ask yourself if you have fallen to a Jezebel church, or even a Jezebel lifestyle. Now is not the time to be playing games. We are in the middle of a global pandemic, there are people dying, we are seeing the signs of Jesus return. Jesus will return one day, whether in my lifetime or not, but we all must know for sure whether we are ready for His return. We must also be ready for our physical death, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow, we could all die at any moment. Our Salvation is nothing to take lightly. Please as the Scriptures say, examine yourself constantly to see if you are in the faith!

Do We Realize What is Happening?

We are living in very unusual times. We are living in difficult times. One of the things God has shown me is two pandemics not just placating the church world, but also the world in general.

There is a pandemic of people giving themselves over to a spirit of fear. People are afraid to go about their normal routine. People get uncomfortable when someone does not wear a mask. People get worried when their throat scratches. People have spent much time soaking up information about this virus.

People have given their minds over to the “new normal”. People are getting used to doing Zoom meetings rather than in-person meetings. Some people think it is better this way and should stay this way. Let me say this, nothing is normal about this!

Not only have people given themselves over to a spirit of fear, but people have even given themselves over to idolatry. It has been made mainstream that it is “patriotic” to go by all the rules to a T and that we should even embrace the rules and the new normal. You can be given over to idolatry to many things: your car, house, spouse, finances, etc. But one of the most common forms of idolatry is an idolatry of self, and this one is often ignored.

There is a hype about a coming vaccine to get us back to normal they say. Let me tell you something, if you have hope in a vaccine, you have given yourself over to idolatry. A vaccine will not save you. The Lord has shown me in a dream that people will be forced to receive this vaccine. There will be so much cultural pressure to get this vaccine more than what there is for the annual flu shot.

Here’s part of the problem. People have bowed down to the government, schools, colleges, and workplaces telling us how to stay safe. But Christians do not realize what Scripture already tells us about walking through times like this. We are to walk by faith, not by sight.  We were not given a spirit of fear, but one of love, power, and a sound mind. Yet why are we walking by fear? Churches closed for months, and many are still closed. Few churches remained open, and some caught on within the first few weeks of tyrant government orders what is really going on.

It is amazing how politically correct the church can get, but it can still be so far from Biblically correct. Part of what we are commissioned to do is lay hands on the sick and cast out demons (see Mark 16:17-18). How can that be done if most churches were closed for months at a time? The Apostles in the Book of Acts were told by government officials to not preach in the name of Jesus, did they stop? No, they did not. The Full Gospel not only includes repentance of sin (which is critical) but also healing and deliverance.  Look up the original Greek for the word saved in the New Testament, it means saved, healed, and delivered. If we are not laying hands on the sick and casting out devils, then we are missing part of the Gospel. Churches must assemble in person, whether in an official building, outside, or underground. In short terms, the government may have permitted preaching over Facebook Live, but it did not permit Christians to go into Hospitals and lay hands on the sick or to cast out demons. Therefore, by government mandate, we were ordered by our own government to practically give up a majority of what we were commissioned to do by Jesus Christ.

Dear Christian, are we going to stand and begin preaching the Full Gospel as commanded? Or we going to get all wrapped up in the philosophy of man and bow down to the spirit of fear and boost our egos because we are patriotic and conforming to the ‘new normal’.

Romans 12:2 (AMP) “And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].”
