The Word Became Flesh – John 1:9-18

  • John 1:9-10
    • Jesus is the true light.
    • He gives light to everyone in the world
    • The people of the world do not know Him.
  • John 1:11-13
    • His own people did not accept Him – Jews.
    • We are children of God because we received Him, it is our right.
      • Hebrews 6:11-12
        • We need to have good mentors to look to as example who have inherited the promises of God. Strive to be like them and become examples to others.
    • He was born as part of God’s Will.
      • James 1:18
      • 1 Peter 1:22-24
        • Sincere love for God.
        • Pure heart
        • Born again
        • We have the incorruptible seed in us
        • The Word of God endures forever
  • John 1:14
    • The Word became flesh
    • Jesus is full of grace and truth
  • John 1:15-18
    • John the Baptist bore witness of Jesus.
    • The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth were only in the Christ
      • God gave the 10 Commandments in Exodus 20
      • Deut. 4:44- Moses gave the law before Israel
